Seamless interior and HMI
It is said that as the technology of automated driving evolves, automobiles will no longer be a means of transportation, but a mobile living space.
Seamless design of conventional interior and human-machine interface (HMI) are required in order to create a living-space-like comfort that gently wraps around its passengers.
Since many interiors are felt by human hands and bodies, there is a growing need for materials that can create a sense of luxury and comfort through senses other than sight, such as tactile sensations.

Foam material with a pleasant feel that transmits light
Touch sensitive sensor of Sekisui Polymatech are installed in Japanese and overseas vehicles.
SOFTLON of Sekisui Chemical has also established a firm position as a cushioning material for automobile interiors.
In order to add value to new interiors, we are developing “a foam that imparts a pleasant tactile feeling without compromising the optical display” while meeting the strict standards for automobile interiors.
By combining this translucent foam with Sekisui Polymatech touch sensor and surrounding component processing technologies, we are able to propose one-of-a-kind applications.
