【MIC Event Report】Effectuation Special Lecture
The “Five Principles” practiced by good entrepreneurs
Special Lecture on Effectuation Held
“Effectuation” has been getting a lot of attention in Japan over the past few years as a decision-making theory for highly uncertain situations. It is the origin of Lean and Agile, and can significantly change the way we look at new and uncertain challenges, such as new product development. We invited Dr. Mari Yoshida, Associate Professor of Graduate School of Business Administration and Faculty of Business Administration, Kobe University, Japan's leading expert in effectuation research, to speak about the essence of this concept in a very easy-to-understand explanation. More than 160 employees, including those from group companies, participated in the seminar. That was a very valuable opportunity to learn about the new concept of “Effectuation” by comparing it with the existing concept of “Causation”, and to gain hints on how to proceed with their work in the future.
