Current Situation of the Construction Market in Japan
The number of construction workers in 2019 is 4.99 million (4.15 million males and 0.84 million females), and the number is 27.2% decreasing from the peak year of 1997.35.3% is 55 years old or older, and 11.6% is 29 years old or younger, which is significantly older than all industries (Over 55 years old: 30.5% , Under 29 years old: 16.6%).As the working-age population declines due to population decline and an aging society, the shortage of labor in the construction industry has become a critical issue in Japan.

The Housing Company (Sekisui Heim) provides detached houses, rental houses, and town planning; the Urban Infrastructure & Environmental Products Company provides underground infrastructure; the High Performance Plastics Company provides heat insulating materials, adhesives, and other products. Innovation Center Established in Research & Development Institute
SEKISUI CHEMICAL has established the Minase Innovation Center (MIC) within the Research & Development Institute (location: Mishima-gun, Osaka), a major research and development base constructed in 1961.
